How to Clean The Glass on Your Shower Enclosure

Most new shower enclosures today are made of glass and the trend is to have as little metal as possible, this is generally referred to as a frameless system. However, if you're going to spend money upgrading to a modern shower you should know the best way to clean it. Our advice is to get an upgrade product that is designed to keep the glass looking new longer. It's usually applied in the factory and as a result of its technology the cleaning and maintenance required is very little. Usually just a spray of water to keep your glass clean and clear.

One of these products that we've seen is called AquaGlide. The at home kit costs around and includes a special towel, sponge, stain remover, pad and revitalizer.

Most of the time you'll just spray the glass with clean water and watch it drain down. Left over droplets can be patted dry with a towel. That's it. Then about once a month you'd want to go over it with a nylon sponge (the one included in the kit is fine if you bought the kit) and then rinse off. Then 2 to 3 times a year you can use the stain remover on any spots that don't come off otherwise. If you notice the water no longer beads on the glass then it's time to use a revitalizer. So basically the cleaning is much less and doesn't require nearly the time that regular shower doors do.

Now, the potential drawbacks would be cost for having this product applied to your shower enclosure in the factory and some people just don't think that the extra expense is worth the time saving effect. Others would do anything to get out of cleaning their bathroom so the upfront cost is nothing. Only you can decide for yourself.
